Joni Epps – NCRS Project Manager
What’s the latest buzz on the non-credit registration system (NCRS)?
The upgraded 3.5 version was implemented in December 2010. With the upgrade came a new and improved registration site, https://noncredit.msu.edu with a slick new look and a greater emphasis on self service. A student can now see their registration(s), financial history, enrollment schedule and update their profile. In addition to the self service features, there is also bulk purchasing, which allows a participant to purchase a seat for someone other than themselves or multiple seats. The purchaser will then receive an email with a reservation ticket number to distribute to the individual(s) that need to redeem the reservation ticket to register. There is also new functionality for instructors to manage their classes, process class notifications and record class participation.
In the administration client (backend) the upgraded version offers the ability to set multiple seat groups, optional items, advanced reporting, discounting, advanced marketing capabilities and integration with (LER) Library Electronic Resources. If you haven’t signed up to use the new and improved non-credit registration system, it’s not too late. Training classes are held the 2nd Thursday of every month.
