In this week’s State of the Union address, President Obama focused heavily on the importance of both innovation and education and the power of “turning a good idea into a thriving enterprise.” As the proud parents of a number of our own ventures, we couldn’t have said it better ourselves. But we don’t just talk the talk. Tomorrow, guests at our Igniting Innovation event will hear from Barbara Fails about msuENet, MSU’s new entrepreneurship network and certificate program. ENet connects venture and social entrepreneurs with education, know how, resources, mentors, advocates, and funding. The approach is two-fold: help students develop an an entrepreneurial mindset while also creating an environment where their ideas can incubate and hatch. We aren’t just echoing the sentiments of the President’s message about new approaches in a changing world…we’re one step ahead of the game.
