About
The Food Safety Knowledge Network (FSKN) is a collaboration between the Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) (http://www.ciesnet.com/), an association of 400 global food companies, and Michigan State University. Working with the CGF Global Markets Working Groupo, Michigan State University, with funding from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation and USAID, developed FSKN is to help strengthen the food industry’s response to the complex food safety knowledge and training challenges that affect emerging markets by providing access to free learning resources.
The FSKN has been used by global companies to train suppliers in Egypt, India and China and materials have been translated into Mandarin, Arabic, Spanish and many local Indian dialects.
Recently the team of faculty who started the FSKN project along with MSUglobal were awarded a SDTF grant from the World Trade Organization. The project will develop from the Basic FSKN information and industry competencies the Intermediate Level. The new materials will be launched in Vietnam and Thailand along with university partners in those countries.
